From gas kinetics to data

Accomplishing my PhD in Chemical Physics sparked a passion for data and analysis. After a hard-fought battle in the gas kinetics laboratory to gather the data, I carried out computational modelling and statistical analysis to obtain rate coefficients β€” work that explained the behaviour of magnesium atoms and ions in the upper atmospheres of Earth and Mars, fed into atmospheric models accounting for satellite observations and led to several journal publications and international presentations.

Science β†’ analysis β†’ evaluation

I turned that enthusiasm toward data, building strong skills in Python (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, Seaborn), SQL, Snowflake, AWS and ElasticSearch, evidenced across my portfolio and CV.

I now work as a senior data quality analyst, where much of my role is genuinely evaluation work: judging where automated classification is correct, diagnosing failure modes and running agreement-rate analysis across datasets of 600M+ records to decide whether a change actually improves output. It turns out that the instinct trained by a science PhD β€” is this result real or is it noise? β€” is exactly what high-quality AI evaluation needs.

What I bring

A scientist’s eye for correctness, comfort with large and messy data and the communication skills to explain a rigorous judgement clearly β€” to technical and non-technical audiences alike. I’m motivated, analytically minded and especially drawn to work where specialist scientific knowledge genuinely raises the bar.
